Tho following teams have been chosen to represent the North and South Islands in the annual Rugby fixture at 'Wellington on July 10. This will he ono of the trial games before tho selection of the All Blacks to play tho Springboks:— NORTH ISLAND Fullback.—H. R. Pollock (Wellington). Threequarters.—J. M. Watt (Wellington), J. L. Sullivan (Taranaki), W. Phillips (King Country). Five-eighths.—D. Solomon (Auckland), C. Crossman (King Country). Halfback. —L. Clothier (Hawke's Bay). Forwards. —E. . Jackson (Hawke's Bay), D. Dalton (Hawke's Bay), A. Lambourn (Wellington), R. MeKenzie (Manawatu), S. Boid (Hawke's Bay), A. Bowman (Hawke's Bay), J. Wells (Wellington), T. H. Pearce (Auckland). B. S. Sadler, the Wellington halfback, was not considered by tho selectors, owing to his receiving an injury in a club match last Saturday.
Reserves.—Forwards: R. K. Anderson (Auckland), A. H. Andrews (Wellington). Backs: D. G. Barton (Wanganui), C. Lo Qtiesne (Wellington). SOUTH ISLAND Fullback. —J. Taylor (Otago). Threequarters.—T. Morrison (South Canterbury), N. A. Mitchell (Southland), J). G. Cobden (Canterbury). Five-eighths.—D. Trevathan (Otago), J. A. Hooper (Canterbury). Halfback. —J. J. McAuliffo (Canterbury) .
Forwards.—J. 0. Hattcrsley (Canterbury), G. Ornian (Bailor), C. E. Quaid (Otago), R. 1). King (West Coast), H. Millikcn (Canterbury), J. Rankin (Canterbury), 11. H. Ward (Southland), A. A. Parkliill (Otago).
Reserves.—Forwards: L. Nivcn (Otago), G. Strang (South Canterbury). Backs: C. Saxton (South Canterbury), A. Black (Otago).
It appears that the New Zealand selectors are trying out new talent in view of tho matches against the Springboks. In addition to the North and South Island match, three trial matches will bo played, and it is likely that the majority of the players nominated for inter-island honours will be given an opportunity in these games. Tho North Island team is strongly represented by nine former All Blacks as follows: —Pollock, Watt, Solomon. Jackson, Dalton, Lambournc, M.cKenzio, lieid and Wells. Only four former All Blacks, Mitchell, King, Rankin and Ward, are members of the South Island team.
