MOTOR-CAR LEAVES ROAD
! DRIVER'S SPINE INJURED ACCIDENT AT DAIRY FLAT ; , An injury to his spine was suffered | by Mr. William Henry Middleton, aged ! G2, of Whangarei, as the result of a motor accident on the Main North Road at Dairy Flat early on Saturday evening. The accident occurred when Mr. Middleton's motor-car left the road at a bend and struck a bank. Mr. Middleton was subsequently brought to Auckland in a St. John ambulance and admitted to the Auckland Hospital. His condition is not serious. FOUR MISHAPS AT HASTINGS MAN CRUSHED AGAINST WALL [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] HASTINGS, Sunday Motor accidents involving injuries to four persons occurred in Hastings at the week-end. Last night Mr. J. McLellan, a garage employee, was pinned between a wall and a car and suffered a fracture of the pelvis. Mr. Charles Anderton, the rider of a motor-cycle, crashed into the gates of the Hastings racecourse this morning and suffered a fracture of the jaw. A collision with a power pole and the subsequent capsize of the car lie was driving at o'clock this morning caused injuries to Mr. Sydney Gollop which necessitated his removal to the Hastings Hospital. A motor-cycle ridden in Hastings to-night by William Maha, a Maori, skidden 011 the wet surface, and the rider's left foot was •injured through being caught in the chain of the cycle.
