SOME PASSING SHOWERS GRADUAL IMPROVEMENT The weather report and forecast for New Zealand, issued Inst evening by . the Government meteorologist, were as follows: —An anti-cyclone of moderate intensity covers the central andgsouthern portions of the Tasman Sea, while a rather deep depression is centred near the Chatham Islands, and conditions remain disturbed in the north Tasman Sea. The forecast is fo-r south-west to . southerly winds, moderate to strong generally, and reaching gale force in some exposed positions, but decreasing gradually to-morrow Seas slight to moderate north of East Cape; elsewhere rather rough to rough, hut decreasing south of Farewell Spit. l'Jastem Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong south-west to southerly winds and rather rough to rough seas, but wind and seas moderating.
