INFANTILE PARALYSIS

TWO CASES AT EDGECUMBE CLOSING OF SCHOOL ORDERED [from our own con RESPONDENT J HAMILTON, Monday Two children attending the Edgpcumbe school, iiangitniki Plains, have been reported to be suffering from infantile paralysis. As a consequence the Edgeeumbe school was closed as from to-day until further notice. The district health officer at Hamilton, Dr. H. B. Turbott, stated to-day that the epidemic throughout the Waikato and East Coast was definitely on the wane, and that only occasional isolated eases were now being reported. A woman aged 10, a resident of To Aroha. has been admitted to the Waikato Hospital, and is being treated as a positive case of infantile paralysis.
