VISITORS ENTERTAINED COMMISSIONERS AS GUESTS sr A large gathering of guests including heads of Government departments, attended a social and dance in the Rialto ballroom last night. The function had been arranged by a subcommittee of the Auckland section of the New Zealand Public Service Association, in honour of Mr. T. Mark and Mr. J. H. Boycs, public service commissioners, Wellington," who are visiting Auckland in connection with the general rcgrading of the service. Excellent arrangement for the entertainment of the guests had been made, dancing being enjoyc-d in the ballroom, while in the downstairs lounge, bridge tables were set out for the non-dancers. Songs by Mr. R. Logan, recitations by Mr. Finklestein, pianoforte solos by Mr. P Munro and an exhibition of the quickstep by Miss Phyllis do Boissiere and Mr. S. Boughtwood were also enjoyed. During the recess for supper, brief addresses were given by Mr. J. Web. ster, president of the Auckland section of the association; by Mr. W. D, Armit, Commissioner of Crown Lands, Mr. C. G. Ellis, manager of the State Advances Corporation and by Mr. T. Dennett, assistant secretary of the Auckland section. The guests were received by Miss Phyllis de Boissiere, ladies' repiesentative of the Auckland section, who wag wearing a frock of phlox pink cire satin and silver lame. Among those present were: Mrs. J. Webster, Mrs. K. Griffin. Mrs. C'. G. Ellis, Mrs. H. Murray, Mrs. A. \V. Walters, Mrs. W. A. Dowd, Mrs. J. ]). Bradley, Mrs. C. Dunn, Mrs. T. C. V. Babone, Mrs. D. A. Paterson, Mrs. G. R. Hulbert, Mrs. E. W. J. Bowden, Mrs. X. J. Till,. Mrs. Seddon Hills, Mrs. T. Rowe. Mrs. W. Sampson. Mrs. A. Coleman. Mrs. R. Vail, Miss J. McGilp, Miss C. Dowd, Miss 'H.
