NEW ZEALAND TEAM MATCH AT CAMBRIDGE WALLACE'S FINE DISPLAY By Telegraph—Press Association —CopyHght LONDON. May 27 Although arrang'ed as a threedays fixture, the cricket match between New Zealand and Cambridge University was all over in two days, the Dominion scoring a notable victory by eight wickets. When play ceased early on Wednesday, owing to bad light and rain, New Zealand in the first innings had lost four wickets for 46, in reply to University's modest total of 102. The not out men were Moloney (21) and Wallace (10). The innings closed today for 135. Collapse Saved Eraser, a slow left-hander,, threatened a New Zealand collapse. Wallace, however, hitting 10 fours and a six, made a superb stand, characterised by stylish footwork, on-drives and squarecuts. His rock-like defence saved the day, and he assisted to take the score from four for 46 to-day to 135. There was a tense position when 10 s. runs were wanted to equal the' University score. Cowie stonewalled and Wallace collared the bowling, scoring 40 out of the last-wicket stand of 41. Cambridge reopened with dogged determination, Payton and Yardley takI ing 80 minutes to make 55 runs. Success of Moloney Then came lapses in the fielding, Payton giving chances off Gallichan and Moloney. Moloney struck a victorious run on a wicket which was now perfect, and took the next five wickets with 11 balls.

White none for 28. Rought-Rought none for 21. Seven matches have been played by the New Zealand cricketers to date', two having been won, one lost and four drawn. Victories have been gained over Staffordshire and Cambridge University while a loss was suffered against Glamorgan.
The New Zealanders will commence a three-days match against Lancashire at Manchester to-day. Three-days' matches will follow against Northampton, at Northampton, commencing next Wednesday, and against Derbyshire, at Derby, cotnmencing next Saturday. The first test match - will be played at Lord's on June 26, 28 and 29.
TEST TRIAL GAME ALLEN'S TEAM V. THE REST LONDON. May 27 In the test cricket trial at Lord's, The Rest in the first innings scored 235 (James Langridge 80, Stephenson 68 not out, Todd 24). .. Bowling.—Allen took three wickets for 50, Fames two for 54, Robins two for 58, Verity one for 13. Hammond one for 18. The M.C.C. team, which toured Australia under the captaincy of G. 0. B. Allen, made 376 in the first innings, and lost four wickets for 123 in the second' (Hammond 45, 28> Wvatt 23 not out, Worthington lz). The game terminates on Friday.
