LAND PARTY TO RESCUE DIFFICULTY IN' PROGRESS (Received May 2S, 0,10 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 28 Advice has been received from Alice Springs that the motor-truck party which is going to the rescue of Sir Herbert Gepp, and the other stranded lliers in Central Australia is not likely to reach its destination before Sunday owing to the difficult nature of the country. In fact, it may be necessary to requisition a camel team. Flight-Lieutenant Hely is daily dropping rations to tho stranded men, who appear to be in good health.
Sir Herbert Gepp and Mr. P. B. Nye, executive officers of the North Australian Aerial and Geophysical Survey, and three members of the crew of an aeroplane, were forced down in Central Australia when on a survey flight on May 21. They were found by an airman two days later, since when they have been awaiting rescue by the land party.
