INFORMAL MUSIC CLUB
The Informal Music Club presented an excellent programme at a meeting held in the Overseas League Rooms. The president, Mr. Leo Whittaker, presided. Pianoforte solos were given by Misses Wilma Scott and _ Molly Smith and songs by Mrs. J. Dickson, Misses Winifred Hill, Margot Anderson, Messrs. Geoffrey Laird and Leslie Jtussel, A sonata for t viola and piano (York Bowen) played by Miss Lois Walls and Mr. Whittaker was an outstanding feature of the programme, This unusual and beautiful work was heard only recently in Auckland for the first time.
Items of an instrumental trio comprising Mrs. Dundas Edmonds (violin), Miss Marjorie Wigg ('cello) and Miss Madge Higgine (piano) completed the programme. The were Miss Madge Higgins, Mr. Whittaker and Mr. Alan Pow.
