MEN'S SOCIETY CONFERENCE
FIVE BISHOPS TO ATTEND [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] TAURAXGA. Friday Arrangements have been made for holding the annual Dominion conference of the Church of England Men's Society in Tauranga from September 14 to 16. Of special interest is the visit to New Zealand of the Rt. Rev. J. A. Kempthorne, D.D., Bishop of Lichfield, who will attend the conference and give the first and second addresses on the Archbishop of Canterbury's paper, "Recall to Religion." There will also be present Bishop Holland (Wellington), Bishop Williams (Waiapu), Bishop Milliard (Nelson) and Bishop Cherrington (Waikato). PUTARURU DISTRICT ELECTION OF OFFICERS [from our own correspondent] i PUTARURU, Friday A satisfactory year, with an improved financial position, was reviewed at the annual meeting of parishioners of the Putaruru parochial district. The election of officers resulted: Vicar's warden, Mr. A. L. Mason; people's warden, Mr. 10. A. Den ley; vestry, Messrs. K. S. Cox, C. G. Penwarden, M. E. Fitzgerald, G. Seton, W. B. Hard wick. G.
