SIX DEFENDANTS FINED PROSECUTIONS AT HUNTLY [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] HUNTLY, Friday Six offenders against the motor vehicle and transport regulations were charged in the Huntly Magistrate's Court before Mr. S. L. Paterson, S.M. In each case a conviction was entered and defendant was fined. Harold Daniel Desmond, carrier, of Hamilton, charged with carrying on an unlicensed goods service between Hamilton and Auckland, was fined £1 and costs, 10s. John Hurst, miner, of Glen Afton, was fined £2 and costs 12s, for using an unregistered motorcycle on the Kotowaro-Glen Afton road. Francis Macgibban-, carrier, of Gordonton, was charged on two counts with Carrying on an illegal goods service. A fine of £l, with 10s costs, was imposed in each case. Leslie Browne, carrier, of Bombay, Charged with operating, on the Auck-land-Hamilton main highway, a heavy motor vehicle and exceeding the maximum speed of 30 miles an hour provided for such class of vehicle, was fined £2 and costs 10s. For a similar offence Arthur J. H. Peterson, carrier, of Waitanguru, near I'iopio, Was fined £2 and 12s costs, and Edward Woodward, carrier, of Hamilton, Was fined £2 with 10s costs.
