CONTEST ON MONDAY NEXT APPEARANCE OF STAN JENKIN Stan Jenkin, of Oamaru, and Billy Martin, of Australia, will be the principals in a professional welter-weight contest to be staged at the Town Hall next Monday evening, under the control of the Auckland Boxing Association. Martin. The advent of Jenkin is one that has been looked for by Auckland boxing en thusiasts for some time. He is rapidly rising in the sport, arid his clean, snappy punching is a factor that marks him as destined for a bright future, Those who consider that the New Zealand professional boxer has a lot to learn are due for a pleasant surprise. Martin is brimful of confidence and as lit as ever he has been in tho past. He will prove a difficult hurdle lor the New Zealander to surmount, although Jenkin is possessed of no inferiority complex. Patrons ars assured of an exciting contest, and this, in conjunction with some bright amateur preliminaries, should make up an excellent evening's entertainment.
