HIGHER CHARGES FIXED INCREASED PRICE OF LEATHER [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLING TON, Tuesday An increase in the price of footwear repairs was decided on at a meeting of the Dominion Federated Boot Trades' Association last night. I lie new prices include 8s 6d for men's half soling and heeling, and 7s 6d for footwear sewn and rivettcd, the prices for repairs to women's footwear being 6s fid and 5s 6d. l'n country districts and some South Island centres the charges will be sixpence extra. The association's secretary. Mr. G. Shields, said to-day that with a big increase in the price of leather it bad been found necessary to increase tho price of repairs, but in view of the fact that the increase might possibly be temporary the federation was advising its affiliated associations not to go beyond a certain limit.
