LONDON EN FETE

CROWDS OF VISITORS DAILY CELEBRATIONS BANQUET AT PALACE The festivities in London in connection with the Coronation are increasing daily, and thousands of visitors from all parts of the world are pouring into the metropolis. Tremendous interest is being taken by the crowds in the work of putting the finishing touches to the street decorations, and in the floodlighting at night.

Traffic conditions are becoming more and more acute, the difficulty being accentuated by the busmen's strike. The King and Queen gave a State banquet at Buckingham Palace on Monday evening, the function being one of great splendour. The guests included Royal personages from abroad, Indian Princes and Empire envoys. Their arrival at the Palace was watched by huge crowds.

Their Majesties again visited Westminster Abbey on Monday afternoon for another rehearsal of the Coronation ceremony. It is announced that Queen Mary and her sister-in-law, Queen Maud of Norway, are to have the privilege of forming their own processions in the Abbey to-day.
