The going was holding. Captain Bruce (Gilchrist) and Valspcar (Craddock) sprinted three furlongs smartly in 38s. Captain Bruce has been working pleasingly and may show up in the first division of tho Windsor Handicap to-day. Kilonsa (Fergus) was not extended whilo running six furlongs in 1.23, tho last half-mile in 55 3-ss. She is in great heart. Lock nit- (Williams) and High Star (McTavish) completed serviceable work with half a mile in 53 l-ss. Locknit revelled in tha soft going and High Star also went freely. Royal Appellant (Vaughan) went steadily over a round, the last six furlongs occupying 1.25 1-5. He looks bright and well. Horowhenua (Kearns) and Free Air (light boy) ran half a mile in 55 4-ss. Horowhenua in in nice order and should race prominently in the King George Handicap. Knight of Australia (Dulieu) and Gav Broney (McTavish) covered six furlongs in 1.18 3-5, the last lialf-milo in 53 l-ss. They finished together, but Knight of Australia, who had the outside running, appeared to be doing tho better. Tooley Street (Kearns) was under restraint while running six furlongs in 1.26, the final half-mile in 58 Tss. He has never looked better and his prospects in the Queen Mary Handicap appear bright. Tybalt (Gilchrist) strode over a round in 1.53, tlie last six furlongs in 1.25 1-5 and the final half-mile in 57 2-ss. He is thriving on his work. The two-year-olds Clansman, Bronze Wings and Bright Idea were together at tho end of three furlongs in 41 2-ss. Huntsman's Chorus (Green), who secured the best of the start, was slightly in front of Ringshot (Murray), with Okawa (Dulieu) close up, at tho completion of five furlongs in 1.5 1-5, the last three iu 3D 4-ss. It was a smart effort and all did their work well. Poi Dance (Trcmain) sprinted three furlongs in h's9 4-ss. She is making steady progress. Prince Colossus (Fergus) covered the same ground in 41 3-ss. He is not being required to do anything serious but is in nice order. Jolly Broney (McTavish) ran half a utile in 54 l-ss. Others to work usefully on tho grass included Valmint. To Hai, Armacourt, Shy, High Tea, Thurwind, Kiltowyn and Tea Chat. TRENTHAM HORSES ROCKINGHAM PROMISING [BY TETJIGKArn OWN COIUIKSFONDKNT] WELLINGTON, Tuesday Bonnie Rollox was schooled again at Trentham on Saturday, going over five fences safely. The Australian is good. N. C, Trillo has been engaged .to ride him. The Trentham contingent for Hawera will consist of Bonnie Rollox, Darecourt. Arctic King and Myriam. Arctie King is very fit, while Dnrecourt and Myriam are also in fine trim. Korero. Boomerang and Liane have been working the best of the Otaki candidates. One of the likeliest maidens seen at Trentham for a long time is the rising three-year-old Rockingham, by Tidal, trained by Kbb Simpson for Mr. H. P. F. Blundell. Rockingham has not been hurried, but if he does not make good quickly when seriously tried, keen judges of track doings will bo confounded. The riding of T. R. George's horses at Otaki will be done mainly by W. Doyle, whose mounts on Wednesday will include Rona Bay, Acceptable. Marcus Cicero and Galteemorc. George will be at Otaki, and A. Tudor will have charge of Bonnie Rollox and j Darecourt at Hawera.
