ASSOCIATION GAME

TWO FINE ATTRACTIONS

REPRESENTATIVE CONTESTS AUCKLAND TO PLAY THE NAVY An attractive representative programme will be staged h.v the Auckland Football Association, at lil and ford Park to-day, when two outstanding representative fixtures will bo decided. The principal contest will be between the Auckland A representatives and a team from the New Zealand Division of the 1!ova 1 Navy, while the curtain-raiser will bo provided by the Auckland B and South Auckland elevens. With tho prospect of firm playing conditions, fast and spectacular football should be witnessed. Considerable interest will centre in the performances of the Auckland players in both matches, in view of the important forthcoming fixtures with the English amateur side. Strong elevens will be fielded both by Auckland and the Navy in tho main attraction. Tho Navy side gave a convincing display earlier in the season, when it defeated the Australian Navy rerresentatives at Blandford Park. The team then proved itself to be a thoroughly well-balanced combination, a strong defence being supported by a virile and clever attack. The Auckland team, which has been chosen by the new selector, Mr. A. P. Neesham, inspires confidence, and it should provide strong opposition. South Auckland is sending a strong team to oppose the Auckland B side, and a fine contest should result. The AVaikato players always provide bright and interesting football, and they are confident of forcing tho Aucklnnders to a close decision. The teams for the main fixture are as follows: AUCKLAND Goalkeeper.—Cameron, . Full backs. —H aggct t, Gerrard. Halves.—Blackie, Hooten, Chalmers. Forwards.—AVood, McCallum, Jepson, Farnan, Kay.
