Insurances were steady and South British made a 'slight forward movement. Jn the classified sections North Auckland Farmers. B preference, were marked down. Auckland Gas met with a keen inquiry at current levels. Breweries closed with a. firmer tone.
Following sharp rises in Australia G. J. Coles were lifted in dealing at up to £» 13s, a gain of 2s, but holders would 'later accept £5 12s. Electrolytic Zincs fluctuated, the preference issue moving up, while the ordinaries eased. Both were weaker at the close and a similar tendency was noticeable in Broken Hill Proprietary.
