WOMEN'S DIVISION
Otahuhu. —A large attendance of members of the branch spent an enjoyable afternoon at the residence of Mrs. N. Walters, Mount Wellington. In the absence of the president the chair was taken by Mrs. Lee. The roll-call was "An Unusual Recipe." A baking competition for plain . scones was won by, Mrs.. Bailey. Community singing, featuring old Irish songs, was led by Mrs. Bailey. Solos were contributed by Mrs. H. Dickie, Mrt. Taylor and Mrs, Bailey. The accompaniments were played by Mrs. J. E. Gilles, who also played a number of pianoforte selections. Afternoon tea was served by a committee of members. During the winter months the meetings will be held at Mrs. J. Mclvor's rooms. Els^ow. —A well-attended meeting was presided over by Mrs. G. W. Wild. .It was decided to donate £3 to the community chest. A demonstration of first-aid work was given by Mrs. Stuck.' A letter was read . from the World Peace Movement. Kerepeehi.—The fifth birthday of the branch was celebrated recently. Visitors from Ngartia, Tauranga and Marton were welcomed. Competitions were won by Mrs. E. Shilton and Miss I. Poland. Solos were contributed by Mrs. Cleave, and brief speeches were made by Mrs. Melnnes (Farmers' Union,), Mrs. Donovan -(president of the Thames Valley provincial executive). The secretary of the latter organisation was also present . At the annual meeting of the Kerepeehi branch, which was h<sld, the iollowing officers were elected: —President, Mrs. J. Pearson and Parsons; general committee, Mesdames Middleton, Barnbrook, E. Shilton, Candy, Burling, Strong, Booth and Hayes. Mangatangi.—The annual meeting was held at the residence of Mrs. Jamiesoii. Mrs. Jensen presided oyer a good attendance. The following officers were elected:—President, Mrs. A. Holder; vice-presidents, Mrs. J. Gumming, and Mrs. W. Hav.il!; secretary, Miss G. V. Chipman. A vote .'of thanks was accorded to the retiring president, who did not seek ;■ re-election. A competition for the .greatest weight of potatoes grown from one potato, was won by Mrs. Bath. Mrs. Holder was first in the bottled fruit section.
