Mrs. W. P. Endean, Judge Street, Parnell, returned by the Awatea yesterday from a visit to Australia.
Mrs. Ernest Craig, of Symonds Street,, accompanied by Mr. Craig has returned from a visit ito Rotorua.
Mrs. R. D. Mossman, Arney Road, Remuera, will leave to-day by the Awatea for Sydney and Melbourne.
Mrs. Howey Walker, View Road, Mount Eden, returned by the Awatea yesterday from a visit to Australia.
Mrs. C. T. Pearse, of Feilding, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Wilson, of Polygon Road, St. Heliers.
Lady Sinclair-Lockhart, of Remuera, who returned by the Awatea yesterday from a trip abroad, is at the Station Hotel.
Mrs. 0. M. Muskett, of Buchanan Street, Devonport, has returned from visit to Wellington, Masterton, Napier and Rotorua.
Miss Hazel Robinson, of Kelburn, Wellington, is visiting Auckland and is staying with Mrs. G. B. Winkfield, Clonbern Road, Remuera.
At Hotel Cargen are: Mrs. B. H. Lightfoot, Miss K. Lightfoot, Mrs. O. Drysdal6 and Mrs. G. H. Michell (Sydney) and Mrs. J. W. D. Pedley (Kenya Colony).
Mrs. Walter Martin and Miss Lorn a Martin, formerly of Christchurch, intend taking up their residence in Auckland and are staying at Princes' Lodge for a few weeks.
Miss L. D. Bull and Miss D. J. Bull (Napier) are among recent arrivals, wrote our London correspondent on April 24. They intend touring the British Isles.
Visitors at the Grand Hotel include: Mrs. G. O. Knight (Honolulu), Mrs. C. E. palmer and Mrs. H. H. Barker (Australia), Mrs. Lillie (Melbourne) and Mrs. Douglas (Hastings).
Miss Gwen Tonkin (Auckland) is visiting England. She plans to go over to Europe, and will leave on her return to New Zealand some time in December, wrote our London correspondent on April 24.
Mrs. Colin Mcintosh was re-elected unopposed as president of the North Canterbury Provincial Executive of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union at a meeting of the executive held last week.
Miss Zoe Hudson, of Lyttelton, who for the past year has been living in Sydney, arrived in Auckland by the Awatea yesterday and is staying with her grandmother, Mrs. R. Duder, Church Street, Devonport.
Miss I. S. Hawkins (Hamilton) expects to be away from New Zealand for a few years. After the Coronation she will attend the International Conference of Nurses, wrote our London correspondent on April 24.
An enjoyable five hundred tournament and dance was held on Saturday night at the Onetangi Hotel, Waiheke, arranged by the Waiheke Rugby Football Club. Card winners were Mrs. S. Monteith (Ostend), and Mr. Lang; (Onetangi). Mr. McGrevy presented the prizes.
At a gathering of tennis players held at the home of Mrs. Brinkman, of Morrinsville, a presentation was made to Mrs. Boles of a- handsome vase in appreciation of the hospitality extended by her to them during the summer months. The use of her grass court had been greatly appreciated.
Members of the girls' choir of St. Matthew's Church gathered in the parish hall on Saturday to farewell Mrs. V. Bosworth, who will leave Morrinsville shortly to make her home in Australia. Mrs. Bosworth, who was the organiser of the choir, was presented with a bouquet and a handbag, on behalf of members. The afternoon was spent with songs and items by the girls.
An address was given to members of the Auckland branch of the Five Millions Club on Friday by Mr. E. H. Wright, honorary secretary. The aims of the organisation were explained by the speaker, who was asked many questions at the close of the lecture. Mrs. A. E. Wood, of Birkenhead, was welcomed oil her return from a visit to Engtand. The president, Mrs. W. B. Darlow, presided. Hostesses were Mrs. Diver and Mrs. Humphries.
The monthly meeting of the Waiuku Women's Christian Temperance Union was held last week. Mrs. J. K. Hull presided. The president's address from the conference number of the organisation's journal was read. Mrs. J. Ballantine was appointed corresponding secretary. Congratulations were extended to Mrs. C. Denize at being elected district chairman of the women's institute. It was decided that a bring-and-buy sale should be held in aid of the organising fund. One new member was elected.
