Brom the e outset it could be seen that Rovers had a n slight advantage in the forwards, their men working together well, with Ngahoe always r prominent. Kirkbride and Gray in particular j played well among the Old Boys pack, while j there was little to .choose botween the two { sets of backs, h. Wilson must be commended ( for a thoroughly sound- display behind the t scrum. Old Boys led by six points to three ] at half-time. Good passing between both sots ] of backs.was a feature of the second hall, while the forward work was sound throughout. Mr. E. Dickey was referee. Technical Old Boys defeated Taupiri in a high-scoring game by 27 points to JO. Technical (established a handy lead in the first spell and in spite of a greatly improved display by Taupiri, the Technical backs showed the extra polish required for victory. The handling of the Taupiri backs let the side down on occasions. Mr. E. Thorpe was referee. - Opotikl. —Only one senior game was played, the Country v. O.M.P. match being abandoned as Country could not field J* team. City met ie Huia. The teams were fairly evenly matched in the first half, when City led by 8 to 3. For City Connor kicked a penalty goal and also converted a try by Mokomoko. To Huia's score was by Matchitt. In the second half City ran out winners b* 22 points to 6. Further scorers by City were Starky, two tries, both converted by Connor, and* a field goal by Mihaere. Donnel scored Te Huia's second try. Junior matches resulted: —O.M.P. v. Torero, no score; To Huia. 6, v. High School, 0. Waihl.—The senior competitions under the auspices of the Waihi Rushy Union were continued on Saturday, when Katikati defeated Mataura, 10—8, and High School Old Boys defeated Athenree 6—o. In the junior division Katikati B defeated Mataura. 6 —3. Kaikohe. —The third series of matches played under the control of the Bay of Islands Rugby Sub-union resulted as follows: —Seniors: Okaihau, 8, beat Kaikohe, 5; Ohaeawai, 15. beat kerikori. 3; Kawakawa, t>, beat Moerewa, 3; Otiria. 40, beat Oromahoe. 0. Juniors: ie Iringa, 7, beat Green and Gold, 6; Kaikohe, 6, beat Okaihau, 3; Ohaeawai, 0 drew with Kerikeri, 0; Moerewa. 9. beat Kawakawa, 3; Otiria won by default from Opua. The following team will represent the Bay of Islands in its match against Dargaville at Dargaville on Coronation Day:—J. Rado; F. Hulme. J. Findiay, C. Brown; M. Wharerau. B. Paniora; Evans; W.
