C. Gould, who compiled a card of 18. 0 —25. The next best card was that of G. A. Richardson, 15, 8 —23. The new 18-hole course was in use. Members are now becoming more used to what is undoubtedly a harder test of golf than that to which they have been accustomed in the past, mainly owing to the fact that the course has been laid out according to modern ideas in goif architecture. While tho playing length is very little shorter than previously, the par of tho course is four strokes lower, and every hole calls for good golf, particularly in regard to distance. , On Wednesday, Coronation Day, a Canadian mixed foursome will be played. WHAU VALLEY CLUB [BY TELiiGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT] WIIANGAREI, Monday A Dogey competition "played during the week-end by members Of the Whau Valley Golf Club was won by H. R, Mills, with a score of 1 down.
