CORONATION BONUS
Sir, —A letter appears in Friday's Herald suggesting that a bonus be paid to the unemployed in celebration of the Coronation. Well, sir, may I put forward the suggestion that a bonus —which might take the form of an extra 20s added to the May payment—be paid to old age pensioners? A slight increase in the month's payment woulc mean a great deal of extra comfort to our aged poor, just at q time when it is most required, as the cold winter descends upon them. I commend this suggestion to the Government. Remember the Aged Poor.
