LONDON BUS DISPUTE
RECOMMENDATION TO MEN
RESUMPTION OF WORK (Received May 7, 6.5 p.m.) '»British Wireless RUGBY, May 6 The delegate of the Transport and General .Workers' Union to the conference in < connection with the London bus strike has decided to recommend the branches of the union affected to empower the union to arrange for the collective resumption of work on Saturday.
TRIBUNAL'S REPORT / " HEALTH OF DRIVERS CASE FOR INVESTIGATION LONDON, May ri The bus strike inquiry has 'ended and the tribunal has prepared an interim report. In the meantime traffic problems are unabated, but everything is orderly. The report expresses the opinion that the evidence regarding the men's claim for a day based on injury to health, is inconclusive, but a case was made out for investigation, and, if substantiated, hours should be reduced or other measures taken. The Court thinks the public would meet any extra cost involved, and expresses the view that some schedules introduced since 1982 operate onerously upon the men. Negotiations concerning other matters should proceed immediately between the parties through the usual channels. j
