VICTIMS' RELATIVES
ZEPPELIN VILLAGE PATHETIC SCENES OCCUR r DR. EGKENER BLAMES GAS By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright (Received May 7, 31.45 p.m.) BERLIN. May 7 A message from Frankfurt-on-Main states that the scenes which were witnessed at Cardington after the disaster to the RlOl were recalled by those which occurred in the Zeppelin village when the news of the disaster to the Hindenburg was received. Distraught relatives, especially young wives, waited all night for news of the crew. Dr. Eckener, designer of the airship, is hastening to Berlin from Vienna. He says one thing is clear, namely, the necessity for using helium, which he has always advocated. It is recalled that much of the scrap metal from' the RlOl was embodied in the Hindenhurg's frame. A commission of inquiry is to be sent to America immediately. The whole of Germany is deeply shocked, especially as Captain Preuss had previously wirelessed that the voyage was ended.
