CORONATION ISSUE
HERALD SUPPLEMENT PUBLICATION ON TUESDAY, RECORD OF PERMANENT VALUE
To commemorate the Coronation of King George VI. and Queen Elizabeth a special supplement will be issued free with the New Zealand Hekald on Tuesday next, the day before the historic ceremony in Westminster Abbey. The supplement, which will be of 24 iFull-sized pages, has been compiled with the idea of providing the public not only with an attractive souvenir of a great occasion, but also with a historical record of permanent value.
Bv picture and letterpress the live 3 of the King and Queen and their children are presented, and among the special articles is one by Sir Philip GibbS. But very much more is embraced by the supplement. A series of articles upon the Coronation ceremony •—its religious, secular and legal significance, its pagcantrv and tradition —will be found of unusual value. Further, there are extracts'from the work 3 of many distinguished men, among them being John Buchan ('Lord Tweedsmuir), John " Drinkwater, Michael Maedonagh and Taylor Darbyshire, who have discussed such subjects as the ancestry of the Royal Family, the evolution of British Kingship, the principle of limited monarchy as opposed to that of republicanism, and numbers of others on kindred aspects of Royal rights and responsibilities. These articles will be useful, for reference.
The supplement will be exceptionally well illustrated with " half-tone block# and appropriate decorations.
