Lawson Little, former British and American amateur y;ol f champion, gained his second important victory since he turned professional by winning the recent San Francisco match play open tournament and a prize of £2OO. In the semi-finals Little defeated the Ryder Cup player, Horton Smith. 5 and 4, and Christian beat another Ryder Cup player, Henry Picard, 3 and 2.
