SEAVILL—COBBE A wedding of interest was celebrated at St. Aidan's Church, Claudelands, Hamilton, on Saturday evening, when Ngaire Francis, elder daughter of Sir. and Sirs. Richard Cobbe, To Akau, was married to Geoffrey Herbert, third son of Sirs. Seavill and the late Sir. Walter Seavill, Waingaro. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of ivory French cloque cut on classical lines. The fitting bodice was fashioned with a V-neckline and finished at the back with a row of buttons. The skirt, which was fitting to the knees, fell to a long oval train. Her tulle veil, which formed a second train, was worn over the face and held to the head by a coronet of orango blossom. She carried a sheaf of ivory chrysanthemums and rosebuds. In attendance on the bride were Sliss Grace Hubbard and Sliss Jean Gudeux, who were dressed alike in old-world frocks of deep rose moire taffetas fashioned with bouffant skirts falling to a slight train. The fitting bodices were finished with square necklines and puff sleeves, and were allied to the skirts with sashes finished' with large bows at the back. Bands of silver leaves were worn in their hair and they carried posies of violets. The bridegroom was attended by Sir. Lan Slears as best man and by Sir. William Rathbone as groomsman. The ushers were Sir. Fritz Williams and Sir. Alan Seavill. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Wattle, where the guests were received by the bride's mother, who wore a smart beige cobweb lace frock relieved with a shoulder spray in autumn tonings. She wore a nigger brown peach bloom hat and skunk furs. Her posy was of golden zinnias and marigolds. The bridegroom's mother wore a black lace and georgette frock, black and white toque and fox furs.
• BELL—STAR KIE The wedding was solemnised on Saturday at the North Slemorial Baptist Church, Remuera, of Slargaret, only daughter of Sir. and Sirs. H. Starkie, and Owen Bruce, second son of Sir. and Sirs. J. B. Bell, Mount Albert. The Rev. P. L. A. Crompton officiated and Sir. A. E. Wilson played the wedding music. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a graceful gown of oyster tinted ninon over dusky pink taffetas, cut on Empire lines'with a softly draped neckline. A small bonnet hat of pale rust crinoline straw with a rust velvet flower caught in front on the brim was also worn and _she carried a sheaf of golden chrysanthemums and cream gerberas. Sirs. John Cunningham attended the bride as matron of honour wearing a Victorian frock of Persian rust lacquered taffetas and green panne velvet halo hat. She carried of bronze and rust chrysanthemums. Sir. Graham Bell, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man. A reception was held at the Mount Eden Tea Kiosk, where Sirs. Starkie received the guests wearing a navy wool georgette and satin ensemble with navy hat and white accessories. Her shoulder spray was of white gardenias and maidenhair fern. She was assisted by Sirs. Bell, who wore a green silk cloque. frock with matching hat and accessories. Her corsage spray was of autumn tinted flowers. Later the bride and bridegroom left by motor-car for the South, the bride wearing a terra cotta rust crepe suit and velour felt hat to tone.
