HOUSING SHORTAGE
Sir, —In reporting tlie shortage of houses in Auckland, it must be clearly understood that this applies to renting only. There are hundreds of houses for sale and possession can bo given. A false impression may be created, and more especially to outsiders wishing to settle in Auckland, who may conclude that this applies to purchasing also. The family man who cannot afford to purchase is hardest hit, as he cannot rent either, children not being wanted to-day. Obsbkver.
