Walker and family, at the corner of Hassan! and Klizabeth Streets. Mrs Walker was out at the time and when she returned discovered the sitting room in flames.

The Wliangarei Fire Brigade was soon on the scene, but the nearest water main was 400 ft. away, and diffi culty was experienced in obtaining sufficient pressure. Nothing was saved. The house and furniture were insured.
