METAL SHARES IMPROVE ORDERS FROM NEW ZEALAND (Received April •_'(), ~..">0 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 'JO .An improvement in metal share v alucs occurred on the Sydney Stock Kxehange to-dnv. Several orders for lilectrolytic Zincs came from Nbw Zealand and also for Australian Glass shares. Cias, bank, brewery and the lending department store shares were •strong. Sales included:—

MELBOURNE EXCHANGE On the Melbourne Stock Exchange investments remained quiet and fairly steady. Barriers and Mount Lyells were somewhat erratic but closed on a firmer tone on the expectation of a gradual improvement in oversea conditions. Business included: —
