THE KITCHEN DRAWER
What do you keep in your kitchen table drawer? String and' odd recipes and numberless useless things that all get tangled up together and hide the useful things from sightP If you kept at least one drawer for all the things you need for cooking, apart from saucepans, you would have a happier time while you were preparing 'meals. More best articles used at random would not stand the chance of being spoiled. Here's a list of some of the things you should keep in your kitchen drawer: A tin-opener, a corkscrew, a bottle-opener. Two or three wooden spoons, a nutmeg or lemon grater, a strainer; a fish-slice made in one piece, as wooden handles always slip at the crucial moment. A long two-pronged fork, a smaller cooking fork. A large cooking spoon, a smaller cooking spoon. A large draining spoon, a small draining spoon. A soup ladle. All these items may be bought for threepence or sixpence. A cooking set which is ready to hand will save you time and money. Never be guilty of using best spoons and forks because you have not troubled to keep your kitchen drawer tidy.
