KUALA KAMPAR TIN The last annual report of the Jvuala Kampar Tin Fields, Limited (Federated Malay States), indicated that a con-# siderable portion of tho. tin ore reserves lie at a depth beyond the maximum which the company's existing dredges can reach. The directors have decided to instal a high-capacity deepdigging plant in order to treat the deeper areas effectively. An order has been placed in England for a dredge to dig to a maximum of>l3o feet and with a bucket capacity of IS cubic feet. This unit should be ready to operate in about two years' time, depending on deliveries of material. The shallower areas, which can be worked by the dredges at present in commission, provide a reasonable life for the Xos. 1 and 3 plants. REPORTS OF MANAGERS Alexander (Reefton).—Report for March: Xo. 6 crosscut—Two shifts of two men have been employed for a footage of Sift, making a total of Ifilft from the.surface.
