SHARE-MILKERS' UNION

CAMBRIDGE DISTRICT VIEWS [from our own correspondent! CAMBRIDGE, Saturday Share-milkers of the Cambridge district are strongly supporting the movement at present being organised to form a share-milkers' union of New Zealand. At a meeting held last evenin 2 it was decided to forward the following recommendations to be included in those to be placed before the Minister of Labour by a Dominion deputation: —

That no farmer be allowed to employ share-milkers who have to depend on their wives as regular milkers; that share-milkers receive one-third on butter-fat and half on calves and pigs; that farmers supply all water for stock and the house; that farmers be compelled to bring their sheds up to dairy regulations. Mr. W. B. James, who presided at the meeting, was appointed to represent the district at the conference in Wellington. Mr. A. Vickers was appointed secretary of the Cambridge organisation.
