JHE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE WEEK CLOSES ACTIVELY Operations for the week closed actively in the investment market on the Auckland Stock Exchange at the single call on-Saturday. Banking shares sold readily, and Unions of Australia were lifted 3s in dealing at £ll os Cd, after which quotations were withdrawn. New South Wales also firmed, gaining 2s 6d in a transfer at £'37 12s Gd. The casing in South British continued. values dropping back a further lid to 9-,5s Cd. In the classified group, Kauri Timbers made a forward movement, while Westport-Stockton Coals sold'at late rates.
Broken Hill Proprietary again weakened and levels were marked down Is in transactions at S-ls and 83s 3d. Electrolytic Zincs also were easier, both the. ordinary and preference issues changing hands cheaper. Australian Glass, G. J. Coles and Dominion Fertiliser all maintained current values.
