BUILDING IN WELLINGTON EXTENSIVE ADDITIONS PLANNED [nv telegraph—OWN correspondent] WELLINGTON, Friday A contract has been let to Christiani and Nielsen (New Zealand), Limited, for substantial additions to the State Fire Insurance building in Wellington. Plans have been prepared for building additions which ultimately will cover the whole area between Lambton Quay and Maginnitv Street, but the contract now let provides only for the back* part of the proposed additions, which will lace Maginnitv Street. The new building will bo a fourstoreyed concrete structure of modern earthquake-resisting design with access 011 all Moors from the present State Fire building. The Maginnitv Street frontage will bo utilised for access to a large underground garage. The ground floor will be used by the State Fire Office and the upper floors by the State Advances Corporation.
