RETURNED SOLDIERS
EVENING AT NORTHCOTE The annual ladies' night of the Northcote Returned Soldiers' Association was held on Wednesday evening in the Parish Hall. The gathering was welcomed by the president, Mr. A. V. Tyer, who referred to the good work done for the returned soldiers by the Northcote Women's Progressive League, represented by its president, Mrs. A. Campbell. The Birkenhead Returned Soldiers' Association was represented by the president, Mr. J. Prickett, who was accompanied by Mrs. Prickett. The hostess was Mrs. J. R. Braithwaite. The floor arrangements were in charge of Messrs. C. L. Duke and W. Osborne. Enjoyable items included songs by Mrs. T. W. Lighton, Messrs. T. W. Culley and C. Newman, and a comic sketch and mouth-organ solo by Mr. J. Reid. The accompanist was Mrs. N. R. Harris.
