THE PRIME MINISTER
BUSY DAY IN AUCKLAND Another busy day was spent in Auckland yesterday by the Prime Minister, Mr. Savage. During the morning Mr. Savage granted a number of interviewi and transacted official business at the Station Hotel, and later he was the guest at a luncheon given by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce in the Town Hall. He was again fully engaged during the afternoon, but at five o'clock paid a brief visit to the Auckland Workingmen's Club, where he was welcomed by the president, Mr. R. Jones. After inspecting the club premises, Mr. Savage, who was accompanied bv the Mayor, Mr. Ernest Davis, addressed the members, who gave him an enthusiastic reception. In the evening, cthe Prime Minister was entertained by the Remuera branch of the Labour Party at a social gathering. Several deputations will be received by the Prime Minister this morning, and he will be. present at a farewell gathering in the Town Hall this evening. The function, which will take the form of a concert and dance, has been arranged by the Auckland branch of the Labour Party.
