GOLDEN WEDDING
MR. AND MRS. W. GOODALL The golden wedding nf Mr. and Mrs. William Goodall, of Dinniss Avenu e Whangarei, was celebrated last week! An unusual feature was /hat both the bridesmaids, Mrs. G. Spick and Mrs. .J. Trounson, and the best man were also present Mr. Goodall was one of the first children born in New Zealand of the original Albertland sc-ttlers. As a lad Mr. Goodall walked five miles to and from school at Paparoa hut left school early to assist his father in the carpentry trade. Mr. Goodall was horn in Auckland in 1864. Mrs. Goodall came to New Zealand at the age of 16 years with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Pointer Evans', in the ship lonic, arriving- at Napier in 1884. The family went to Paparoa, where Mr. Evans took up an area of farm land Mr. and Mrs. Goodall retired to Whangarei 14 years* ago.
