HANDSOME CHEQUE

YIELD TO PROVINCE THE SEASON'S RETURNS TOTAL OVER £1,500,000 As a result of tho prices maintained at the final Auckland wool sale yesterday, it is estimated that tho wool cheque for tlio Auckland province for the 1936-37 season will amount to more than £1,500,000, an increase of approximately £600.000 over the total returns for 1935-36. At nil estimated average of £23 a bale, yesterday's sale is likely to realise £511,806. This sum, in conjunction with the £1,053,121 yielded by the two previous sales, will make the total estimated return for the season £1,564,928, an outstanding figure for any one season as far as tho Auckland Province is concerned. The following tabic gives a, comparison of the returns at tho Auckland wool sales for this season and last season:— 1935-30 1936-37 November .. £240,154 • January .. 32-I,OSI / ,•, March .. 371,356 511,806 (est.) Totals .. £935,621 £1,504,928 (est.)
