STOCK INSPECTION
BAY OF PLENTY NEEDS SURGEON HELD DESIRABLE [BY TELEGRAPH OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHAKATANE, Thursday The Whakatane County Council today discussed the need for the appointment of a Government veterinary surgeon for the Bay of Plenty. Hie opinion was general that a stock inspector should be appointed, but some of the members said the importance of the district justified asking for a qualified veterinary surgeon. Mr. C. McCrcady said the unfortunate fact was that the Government had not got the men. Mr. McCracken said he agreed that a qualified veterinary surgeon should be provided, but in view of the difficulty of getting men they should first concentrate upon getting a stock inspector. Tho council agreed to this course.
