OBITUARY

MR. HERBERT BELLAM WELL-KNOWN CONTRACTOR j The death* occurred yesterday of Mr. Herbert Bellam, a well-known Auckland contractor and engineer, who resided at 22 Glenalmond Road, Mount Eden. Mr. Bellam was born in Manchester, 52 years ago, and came to New Zealand as a young man. About 20 years ago Mr. Bellam entered into partnership with Mr.' H. Isherwood, and tho firm of Isherwood and Bellam was responsible for many important contracts over the North Island. A few years ago he joined tho firm of Bellam'and Murray, Limited, consulting engineers. Mr. Bellam is survived. by his wife, a son and a daughter. MRS. J.i A. M. MOORE The death occurred on Wednesday at her residence, 3 Corunna Avenue, Parnell, of Mrs. Jeannie- Ann Maxwell Moorej at tho age of 84. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Joseph McAskie, and was born in County Tyrone, Ireland. She came to Auckland in 1877 in the ship Appelles. Soon afterward she married.the late Mr. Frederick J. Moorej to whom she had been betrothed in Ireland, and who had followed her to New Zealand. .They settled in Parnell, and Mrs, Moore had lived in' tho same house ever since. Mrs. Moore was formerly well, known in musical circles in Auckland'. For some years she was honorary organist at St. David's Presbyterian. Church. Four of her children survive her. mr. j. s,.McMillan [from OUll OWN correspondent] HAMILTON, Thursday Tho death occurred in Hamilton last evening of Mr. John Stanley McMillan, aged 41 years, of Bruntwood, Cainbridge. Mr. McMillan, who was born in Cambridge, was one of the best farmers in the district. On his return from tho war, through which ho served without injury or illness, lie acquired a rough property of 300 acres at Bruntwood. By his own efforts he transformed it into a fine dairy farm. Mr. McMillan was .a member of the W:ukato Hunt, and was a skilled horseman. He leaves a wife and one son.
