Rutledge, general manager in New Zealand for the Fox Films Corporation (Australasia), Limited, left for Wellington by last night's express J after a. short visit to Auckland. The Hon. F. E. Lark, M.L.C.. the I Hon. .T. Cotter, M.L.C., Mr. W. J, Lyon, M.P., and Mr. W. T. Anderton' > I M.P., returned to Auckland in the limited express yesterday after attending % the "Labour Party caucus in Wellington. ' Mr. C. G. Macindoe, chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, and Mr. I D. Holderness. superintendent, returned I from Wellington by train yesterday morning, after attending a meeting of the New Zealand Harbours' Associa- 1 tion Mr. C. J. Hamblin, formerly of Auckland, has been appointed fields superb I intendent of the Department of Agriculture in Palmerston North, following the retirement of Mr. W. J. McCulloch. Mr. Hamblin, who had been act-ing-fields superintendent, will control the. area extending across the North Island from Taranaki to Kast Cape. Mr. Gilbert Archey. director of the Auckland War Memorial Museum, has left for Wellington, where he.will sail by the Awatea on March 2 for Sydney to connect with the Orontes for London. He will be absent from Auckland for about a year on a world tour under the auspices of the Carnegie Corporation. He will be accompanied by Mrs. Archey.
