SUCCESS AT MATAIATA lornacre and racemosus RESPECTFUL TAKES HACK CUP URGE TOTALISATOR INCREASE Double wins by the To Rapa-trained horses Lornacre and Racemosus were features of the Matamata Racing Club's meeting on Saturday. Lornacre scored in the two open races, the Waharoa Handicap and the Walton Handicap, and started an each-way favourite in both. Racemosus was successful in the Railway Hack Handicap and the Okoroire Hack Handicap and , he was fourth fancy in the betting on both occasions. The only other favourite to score besides Lornacre was Calcutta, who made a one-horse race of the Tirau Hack Hurdles, winning with ease from end to end. The conditions for racing were excellent. the weather being beautifully fine and the course in fine order, and there was a large attendance. Tho Matamata Hack Cup was won by the improving Respectful, who confirmed the form lie revealed at Ellerslie the previous week by scoring handsomely from Racette. The day was notable for the success of To Rapa horses, who won seven of the eight races. The totalisator handled £23.836, compared with £13,142 last year, when the weather was very wet, an increase of £10,694. Results: —
