The Town Board realised, stated the letter, that unless the Borough Council was prepared to release it from its contract nothing could bo done in the matter. The letter further stated that, "owing to the capital expenditure that would be saved by the Power Board taking over the Kamo area, the Town Boarjl wishes to got release from its contract and asks the council to meet members of the Town Board to discuss the matter." At present tho Kamo Town Board obtains its current in bulk from tho Whangarei Borough Council and reticulates it to consumers in Kamo. The agreement with the council terminates in 1953. The council appointed a sub-commit-tee, consisting of tho .Mayor (Mr. W. Jones), and Messrs. G. H. Morrish and J. Donaldson, to meet the Kamo Town Board. The committee was authorised to facilitate the release of the board from its contract with the council.
