COLLAPSE OF CAR WHEEL
PASSENGER'S FATAL INJURY

The circumstances surrounding the death of Abraham Nathan, a married Maori and the father of six children, were investigated by the district coroner Air. J. A. McLean, at Dargaville today. After hearing lengthy ~ evidence, the coroner found that death was due to injuries suffered when a car capsized as the result of the collapse of a rear wheel on a straight, level section of the Kailiu Road, near Parore. John Nathan, fanner, of Maropiu, the driver of the car, said he was travelling at about. 25 miles an hour. He felt a bump and thought the car was too far off the metal and tried to come in nearer the centre of the road, but turning the wheel was t-lie last he remembered. Deceased was unconscious and he was taken to hospital. Witness' car was ap old model and liacl been in his possession about a month. Ho did not hold a driver's licence at the time of the accident. Ho had three shandies that day
