TRAVEL CLUB MEETING HOLIDAY VISITORS Two addresses Avere given to tlie large number of members who attended the initial meeting for the year of the Rotorua Travel Club, held in the Women's Club rooms last week. Dr. Stamm, of .Switzerland, recounted some very picturesque sidelights on her native country, and Miss Olive Dean, of Perth, gave an account of two trips she had made, one through Western Australia, and the other a transcontinental journey from Perth to Sydney. The official hostesses were Mrs. V. C. lvevs and Mrs. Bernasconi.
Among the visitors present were: —Dr. Stamm (Switzerland). Miss Olive Dean (Perth), Miss Webber (England), Misses Kile (2) (Auckland), Misses A. and I. Kennedy (Aucklandi, Mrs. Clatworthy (Palmerston North), Miss Trewhella (Auckland), and Miss Anderson (Auckland). At the monthly progressive croquet afternoon held by the Rotorua Croquet Club this week the winners were: A grade, Mrs. E. La Trobo Hill; B grade, Mrs. W. W. I'. Hall. The prizes were donated bv Mrs. C. R. Lloyd and Mrs. 1). Herd. *
Mrs. Thornton Walker, of Auckland, has taken a house in Seddon Street tor the holidays.
Mrs. J. Blencowe, and Mrs. \V. Helev, of Rotorua, have left on a deep-sea fishing holiday in North Auckland. Mrs. D. Bell, of Eruera Street, has returned from a visit to her parents at Thames.
Mrs. Philip Gibbs, of Fairy Springs, is spending a holiday in Auckland. Miss Minnie Mactier, of Haupapa Street, is visiting Wellington, where she attended the British Dram* League summer school. Mrs. Leslie Aicken, of Auckland, was the guest of Miss Gwenneth La Trobe Hill last week.
Mrs. G. Foote, of North Auckland, is visiting her mother, Mrs. J. Banks, of Meade Street.
Mrs. W. L. Richards, of Haupapa Street, has returned from a short visitto Tauranga. Mrs. Farrel.l and family, of Auckland, are at their summer cottage at Lake Rotoiti
.Miss C. Robinson, of Wellington, and late of Ipswich, England, has been spending a holiday in Rotorua. Miss Olive Dean, of Perth, who has been spending a holiday with her sister, Mrs. J. H. Herrold, of Tutanekai Street, left on her return journey on Tuesday. Miss Kathleen Hodgson, of Khandallali, Wellington, spent the holidays with Archdeacon and Mrs. R. Hodgson, The Vicarage, Hinemoa Street. Mrs. C. H. Redhead, of Lytton Street, is at her summer hacli, Lake Taupo. Mrs. J. A. Martin, of Wellington, and Miss Ruth Martin, are visiting Rotorua. Mrs. D. McFarlane, of Auckland, is visiting her mother, Mrs. C. Carr, • Rotorua.
Miss Aubrey Gannon, of Hunter's Hill, Sydney, is visiting Rotorua. and is the guest of her aunt, Mrs. M. H Hampson, Ranolf Avenue. Miss Judith Hampson. of Hanoi)' Avenue, who has been visiting relatives in Svdnev, has returned home. Miss Nanc.v Moore, of Cambridge, is spending a holiday in Rotorua and is the gue.st of Mrs. A. Brown, Fenton Street. Mrs. A. McMillan, of Auckland, is visiting Rotorua Mrs. R. A. Gardner, of Ranolf Avenue, has returned from a visit to Auckland.
