SHIPMENT OF BUTTER
COASTAL BOATS ARRIVING LARGE STOCKS EXPECTED With coastal vessels bringing several thousand boxes of butter to Auckland to-day and to-morrow, and large consignments still standing in the railway goods yards, the employees at the King's Wharf works of the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Company, Limited, will be far busier than usual when they resume work to-day, and it will be some time before they return to the normal schedule.
It is expected that to-day there will be approximately 11.000 boxes of butter to bo placed into cool storage. The Paroto's cargo of 1600 boxes from the Bay of Islands was stored on Satuiday by members of the clerical staff of the company, but a quantity of butter from Opotiki was left outside, and to this will be added the large stocks of butter that have been accumulating during the last few days, and are expected to arrive to-day and to-morrow.
The Clansman loaded 1300 boxes of butter at Whangaroa, Maunganui and other ports yesterday, and 4000 boxes are expected from Whakatane this morning. There were 1400 boxes of butter loaded at Tiako on Saturday for shipment to Auckland, and 3000 at Dargavilk; yesterday. About 500 crates of cheese will also have to be stored. Cargoes of butter will also be loaded at Te Aroha, Whakatane and Whangarei to-day, and by to-morrow there will bo about 12.000 or 13,000 boxes at the wharves for discharge.
