The sharp rise in vali.es last was responsible for a large .varding of IS,OOO store lambs at the Stortford Lodge sale. The market was steady for quality top lines, prices showing little variation from last week, but second-quality and cull lots were definitely easier by Is a head. Competition was bright, but a little hesitancy was shown in bidding for the first few pens. All values were in vendors' lavour. Limited, of Hamilton, reports that nothing of r.nusual consequence transpired in the cattle department at, its Otorohaniru stock sale on Wednesday. A full yardinpr largely lacked heavy quality cows, beins: comprised mainly of medium Jersey beef, forward, stores, ami boners. Bulls, too. were plenitful, and a small number of ISmoiilhs heifers and a line of last season's rahes were also sold. Mates showed little alteration, and all sold readily on a firm market, with a consistently strong demand.

The heifers commanded good competition.
