HOSPITAL FINANCE
LOAN FOR BUILDINGS LITTLE MONEY OFFERING [fbom OCR OWN correspondent] HAMILTON, Thursday Reporting to the Waikato Hospital Board to-dav, the treasurer, Mr. A. C. Burgess, said he hud inquired respecting the raising of £43.000 to carry out a building programme which has been approved by the Local Government Loans Board. Two institutions had offered to lend the board £IO,OOO and £SOOO respectively. All the other institutions approached had replied that they had no money to lend on the terms authorised by the Local Government Loans Board, namely 30 years at 35 per cent. Tne chairman, Mr. J. J. Ryburn, suggested that the two sums offered be accepted, and that a committee be appointed to continue the efforts to raise the balance of the money on the best terms possible, subject to the approval of the Health Department and the Loans Board.
It was agreed to adopt this course. The treasurer reported that £OB had been paid as a Christmas bonus to 57 outdoor relief recipients. A year ago £177 was paid to 108 recipients.
