NORTH ISLAND CONFERENCE GATHERING AT ROTORUA [jtY TEI.EORAPH —own correspondent] ROTORUA, Thursday About l- r )0 supporters of the Douglas Social Credit movement are to assemble in Rotorua d.iring the coming weekend for the opening on Monday of the conference of North Island branches. Among the delegates who will participate in the discusisons are several members of Parliament, those who have already intimated their intention of attending being Mr. H. M. Rushworth (Bay of Islands), Mr. A. C. A. Sexton (Franklin), Mr. C. A. Barrell (Hamilton), and possibly Mr. H. Atmore (Nelson). The organiser is Mr. J. H. Penniket of Hamilton.
Separate conferences are being held this year in both the North and Sotifh Islands, the South Island conference having already been completed.
It is understood that there will be a lengthy agenda, but one of the main topics of discussion will probably be the attitude which the movement should adopt toward the present Labour Government, in view of some dissension among members at the failure of the Government to undertake certain monetary reforms last session.
The delegates will he accommodated under canvas at the municipal motor camp, 50 camping sites having been sot aside for the visitors by the Rotorua Borough Council.
