T HE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE further heavy dealing Conditions livened up on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday and a heavy volume of business was again transacted. There was a noticeable firming in Government loans, the 1f) 1649 4 per cent bonds selling 4.1s dearer t £lOl. Levels for the 1943-16 4 per cent issue were lifted 35s in dealing a t £10: i 10s. Banks were quieter, trading being confined to I'nions. After a currentlevel sale South British Insurances again . advanced, moving up 4id to 95s 3d. A feature of dealing was the strength of*pastorals, and a transfer of Loan and Mercantiles at £'.'<7 5s established a r j S p of 4-">s. Buyers offered £4O at the close. Dalgetys were firm, although Goldsbrough-Mort.fi were a shade easier. y evr Zealand Breweries were weaker, dropping Is fid in business at 58s and 575. In the miscellaneous group G. J. Cdes reached a new high level of PSs pd a rise of Is 3d. Woolworths (N.Z.) •irere lifted 2s 6d in a transaction at £7 12s fid. Following the move in Australia, Dunlop-Pordriaus advanced on the prospect of an interim dividend, selling "d dearer at 19s Id. Henry Jones were dealt in at higher levels. Peclines occurred iu Colonial Sugars, Morts Dock and Hume Pipe (Aus.).
